Enviromental Studies

I am a grade twelve student in the environmental studies class at Colonel By Secondary school. For our year end summitive we have to try and decrease our ecological foot print by cutting out or decreasing some aspect in our life. To decrease my ecological footprint I have decided to cut out fast food buying from my day to day life. I buy fast food on a daily basis. I buy Tim Horton's break feast on the way home from practice everyday and then once I get to school I buy a breakfast beagle. I sometimes will buy my lunch at school or if me and my friends go out for lunch. Buying fast food is like an addiction for me. I would say 95% of my paycheck goes towards buying fast food. One metric ton of food transported by road in the United Kingdom traveled an average distance of 77 miles in 1998. Not only is there animal cruelty behind some of the restaurants like Kuntucky Fried Chicken but they are mass slaughtered and are not fed properly.
